100 days under water!
100 days under water!
After 100 consecutive days, Dr. Joseph DeTuri!
I was talking about Deturi, a professor at the University of South Florida and a retired naval officer. Everyone used to call him as 'Doctor Deep Sea'.
Will not call or why! This man has a doctorate in biomedical engineering. Always wanted to understand how it feels to be under water.
But if he lives under water for 100 days, he can be called a sea-crazy doctor, right?
However, the beginning of this story is on March 1, 2023. DeTuri entered a lodge 30 feet below water in Florida's Key Largo lagoon, a temporary resting place for scuba divers. Before that, these two people spent a lot of time together, took a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Bruce Canterall and Jessica Fein were there for 73 consecutive days. That too in 2014. So... according to the calculation, if they want to break their record, it would have been 74 days in the lodge. Right? But no, Dr. fell in love with being under water. Deturi. Stay for 100 days, he thought.
And every thought is action. With the help of the Marine Resource Development Foundation, his life on the sea floor began. You must be thinking, what is this! How many days must be under water, that's it! No, not at all what you think.
The interior of this underwater lodge is nothing like a submarine at all. So the whole time Deturi had to go through constant water pressure while here. The project has been named 'Project Neptune 100'.
What has Deturi been doing underwater for so long? Students at the University of Florida ate protein-rich foods like chicken and fish eggs, slept, exercised, and took regular online classes.
Nothing much, only to see the sun, Deturi's mind has been fixed for so long.
He believes that by planning in this way, people can easily live under water and keep the environment of the sea beautiful. What are you thinking? Do you want to build a house like this under water?
